Ltd. (CSCS).  CSCS is a joint venture between Checon Corporation and Shivalik Bimetal Controls of Solan, India.  Established in 2005, CSCS manufactures electrical contacts, contact assemblies and materials using technologies ranging from brazed toplay and clad inlay to bimetallic rivets and welded assemblies.

Mr. Balme’s appointment is timed to support the transfer of Checon’s industry leading technologies to the joint venture.  “We are introducing new technologies to Indian industry and it is therefore critical that there is complete understanding of the equipment, the processes and their characteristics,” Allen Conaway, Checon’s President, and Chairman of Checon Shivalik Contact Solutions, Pvt. Reporting directly to the CSCS Board of Directors, Mr. Balme will oversee the development and execution of the CSCS business plan to fully exploit the opportunity presented in India.  While Mr. Balme will continue to lead Checon’s sales and engineering functions, a substantial component of his activities will be directed toward CSCS, including extended travel to India.

“Supporting Bill’s efforts is the strong management team of CSCS.Led by Sumer Ghumman. CSCS management resources include Technical Sales, Process Engineering, Finance, and Operations management.  It is Bill’s intention to fully engage each of these disciplines in the development of our startup,” Conaway said.
