Wayne Mello, Checon’s Production Planner has been promoted to Production Manager
North Attleboro, MA – September 27, 2011 – Wayne Mello, Checon’s Production Planner has been promoted to Production Manager, with full responsibility for all of Checon’s contact assembly operations.
Wayne’s promotion is timed to support the recent acquisition of Engineered Metals, a cladding operation originally based in North Kingston, RI, and to enable a smooth transition of the new business into Checon’s production activities. Wayne will report to William Balme, who as Executive Vice President retains overall responsibility for Checon’s Operations, including precious metal manufacturing and the new cladding production areas.
Wayne, who holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Northeastern University, has been with Checon for close to seven years, during which time he has fulfilled responsibilities in the areas of process engineering, information systems design and implementation, inside sales management, and finally, production planning. Many of our customers will be familiar with Wayne and know him as one of the key go-to guys within the company.
“Wayne’s organized approach has already brought significant advances to Checon’s planning systems and we look forward to his increased exposure to the manufacturing operations,” said Bill Balme.
