As the Vice President of Operations for Checon, LLC, Wayne Mello oversees all manufacturing operations activities, ensuring the development and implementation of efficient processes and cost-effective systems to meet current and future needs.

Wayne started with Checon some eighteen years ago as a mechanical engineer, having developed through the ranks in successive management roles and areas of responsibility. In addition to production planning, procurement, and company-wide systems development, Wayne drives plant performance, implements cost-reduction initiatives and continuous improvement programs, and enforces corporate policies, processes, and procedures.

"Working at Checon has been both a challenging and rewarding experience," Wayne remarked. "And while being part of a vertically integrated company that supplies emerging markets is especially satisfying, what makes it even more enjoyable is our culture and the positive work environment," he added.

Wayne holds a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Northeastern University. He is also Green Belt Certified and has completed multiple AMA courses in project, business, and operations management, as well as the IEEE Holmes Conference course on electrical contacts.

Wayne is a Hudson, MA, resident with his wife, Jackie, and two children. Together, they enjoy travel and different experiences, especially immersing themselves in different cultures. We also enjoy spending outdoor time with family and friends, either lakeside in New Hampshire or on the New England coast.
